The beauty department: Caviar nails.

Say whaaat? Have you ever heard of this new beauty trend? Well, in case you haven't, here's some basic info. 

The nail embelishement basically consists in adding some "caviar pearls" to our usual nail polish for a 3D effect.
I thought it could be very interesting to get the lips too for special occasions but it might be a little unpractical I guess. I can only imagine other people reactions about that look; something like -" What the heck happened to your lips!"- and so. 

Anyway... what do you think? Yay or nay?

Oh, how much I love this gal! she's the coolest. Charlotte Gainsbourg comes from a very famous family. Daughter of the ultimate it girl Jane Birkin and the actor/musician/director Serge Gainsbourg, this french girl has inherited all the talent and style of her parents. She's got an amazing career in film and she's making one in music. Tall, long-necked, and elegantly gawky, Gainsbourg has impressed critics and audiences with her work and unique looks.
She's the muse of Balenciaga and the inspiration of french girls who want to look like her... I can only say, my kingdom for her hair. xx

The natural flaw.

 Behold my little freckled faces! Freckles seem to be a beauty trend this spring. Finally someone comes to their senses and finds those little brown spots attractive, no more covering up! Because flaws are what makes us perfect... and even saucy Brigitte Bardot had these beauty marks and show'em proudly. So, let's get inspired. xx

Ok, so today I add a new section to my blog which I named "Rare beauty" and I pretend to keep monthly.

And the first rare beauty that graces this month is, the incomparable Anjelica Houston. 

This  Californian chick is the real deal. Her strong nose and cat eyes makes her owner of a mysterious beauty along with the tragic and dark roles played in her films. 

She start her career as a model and from there she dipped herself 

into acting. Now she's the hot momma in Wes Anderson films and a huge icon both in fashion and film industry. 

That's why she deserves the first spot in this section. xx

Easy+cool hairdo = let's try it!

The fishtail bun: Perfect for when you have long hair but litte time in the mornings and yet you want so much to look presentable and different for once at work (or wherever you spend your day!)

Ok, step 1: Start by pulling up your hair into a high ponytail and   tie it with an elastic.

Step 2: Starting at the top of your head, begin creating a fishtail braid. This is actually very easy (if I can, you can). First you have to grab small pieces of hair from the back part of your ponytail and bring them up front and start knitting one by one from side to side. If you need a better explanation(and I bet you do,'cos I suck at giving instructions)here's a tutorial.

Ok, once you have finished braiding your entire ponytail then, Step 3: secure it with an elastic hair band and begin pulling apart the braid to make it look thicker and a little messy (if you feel like it).

Step 4: Grab the end of your braid and pull it up and around the base of the ponytail creating a bun. Secure it place with bobby pins, then take the ends of your braid and tuck'em into the bun to hide and you're all set!

Please be so kind to practice first before you use it for a serious  purpose haha. xx

New nail colors for this season 

I'm a big time lover of nail polish since I was a little girl.. don't know why. I guess it's because I loved flipping through the fashion magazines that my mom used to buy, where all these elegant women appeared with their nails perfectly done and their interesting outfits.

Soy una gran amante del esmalte de uñas desde que era niña.. No se por que. Supongo que es porque me encantaba hojear las revistas de moda que mi mama compraba, en donde veia a todas estas mujeres elegantes con sus uñas perfectamente arregladas y sus perfectos outfits.

En fin... esta temporada los esmaltes son puro brillo y tonos tornasol. No conozco el nombre de todos los colores pero los pueden encontrar facilmente en la web o darle click a cualquier imagen de arriba para redireccionarse a la tienda web correspondiente. Easy looks for this fall

Bold eyebrows, a la Audrey Hepburn. Probably not for everyone... 

I particularly love this look, it frame the eyes & make them look ferocious.

Naked lips, colorful eyes. I don't really use much color on my eyes, but definitely trying this!

Loose braids... easy and cute, for those like me with long hair and short time in the mornings. I must say, this is not a trend around here. I abuse much of this one every single day!

 Undone buns... Like I said, this is very practical and looks nice if you take good care of giving the hair the right proportions otherwise you probably end up looking 

like a crazy person.

White hair

 I adore this hair color, and I even thought to try it sometimes, but I think it can come off bad if you don't give the hair a proper care.. So maybe I'll keep that thought a bit longer. Meanwhile...

Anyway, since nail polish has been my current obsession I've been buying every bottle I run into and I like them all but I wanted to make a favorites list to you so I narrow it down to 3 essential color palettes for this summer-pre fall season. I just haven't found the grayish blue color to complete my whole collection, and I loove it. Pretty right?. xo

El manicure "Moon" alias el Ruffian en honor a la marca de moda que creó el look, es otra vez tendencia. Digo otra vez porque este aspecto se hizo famoso en los años 40 y regresó hace aproximadamente dos años pero justo este 2011, diseñadores como Ruffian, por supuesto y Jason Wu entre otros, utilizaron esta tendencia de belleza para complementar sus colecciones. Moon manicure aka Ruffian nails in honor of the  fashion label who created the look is again a hot trend. I say again because this look became famous in the 40´s  and it came back about two years ago but this 2011 designers like Ruffian of course and Jason Wu among others used this beauty trend to compliment their collections. Ombré Hair

Me imagino que alguna ves has escuchado el dicho "la belleza cuesta" y vaya que es verdad, por lo menos en cuanto a productos de moda se refiere. Pues esta ves es todo lo contrario.

Tal parece que se ha venido una tendencia llamada ombré hair de dejarse la raíz del cabello oscura y las puntas claras, algo asi como una especie de cabello playero ó como una amiga decia "pelo a la pastor alemán".

Así que si no has tenido ni tiempo ni dinero para retocarte la raíz o ponerte las mechitas de color, ni te preocupes que es lo de hoy. Ahora que si no te gusta esta tendencia o eres de las que siempre tiene el pelo bien arreglado pues existe el ombré hair con las puntas de colores extravagantes.
